So many changes happen these first few years it is hard to keep up with them! Jack is a very excited talker right now! If he sees something that excites him (like pretty much everything!), he yells the word over and over til you acknowledge it! He is so excited about animals and insects. If he sees any bird/rabbit/squirrel on our lawn he looks at me and says "see it?". I say Ok and he runs at the animal as fast as he can. He still hasn't caught on that they just run away - he loves trying to catch them! We were having caterpillars on our deck for about a month and he was so excited. he would yell "catapillillillah" over and over. And i was so grossed out - he would catch them and squeeze them in his excitement, or step on them or ride over them in his bike or drown/rescue them. It was a little too much for me! Or he thinks it is so funny to let ants run all over him!
Jack also loves trucks and trains. He really loves riding in the minivan. Who would have thought this boy who screamed for about 18 months whenever we drove in the car/van with him would love it so much. He actually cries if we can't go in the van. When we drive he sees a truck and yells "truck" over and over until we acknowledge it. You can imagine how many trucks he sees during a normal drive! He is also a funny eater. He enjoys sweets but savors them and eats them so slowly. You give him a small piece of chocolate and he will put it in and out of his mouth for 30 minutes (in the process getting chocolate all over the place!). He also always needs to have lots to drink. When Julia lived with us we joked how similar he ate to Julia (except Julia was a lot neater:).
Jack's sleeping habits are so funny to me too. When he was a baby i put him on his stomach from about 2 weeks old on (when he wasn't sleeping with me). After he turned a year he 95% of the time sleeps on his back. And he is so still - he wakes up the same position you put him in at night! He has one position he likes in the bed. He has to have his 2 poohs, his little lamb and 2 blankets covering him a certain way. Then he says "diaper" (stall tactic to have us check his diaper). Then he says "kleenex" (stall tactic #2. We keep on right next to his bed for this moment!). Then if that weren't enough he says "bugger", so we check his nose again. Then he says "water", and we get his water bottle which he holds onto while he sleeps. By then he says "cover" which means he needs his covers rearranged on him! This could go on all night if we let it!
