Jack's Antics...

I feel like Jack's personality has developed so much lately that i have a lot to catch up on! I have to say that it is so fun to have him be over the first year of life and feeling a lot better! God has really healed his body of the reflux over this past month or 2 and i am thankful to hear him sleep peacefully at night. We still do medication in evening and keep him away from acidic foods.

He took his first step the week of August 18th, but really started walking on his own a month later around 14-15 months old. I love it now that he can walk, especially since i am not supposed to be picking him up i can usually take his hand and bring him around to where he needs to be. Jack is such a clown - he just makes the funniest faces and has so much enthusiasm for life! He squeels and screams for the things he loves (animals are at the top of that list!) and becomes very sensitive for the things he doesn't like so much:) The mood can go from excited to very sad in just a matter of seconds.

Jack has a great sensitivity or humor to "no". When we say no touch to say the fireplace he will break into tears. But at the same time he will go touch the outlets, break into squeels of laughter and go running! You just never know which response he will give! We often call him "pumpkin" and Andrew has caught on. Sometimes he will come over and stroke Jack's arm and say "hi pumpkin" in a very sweet voice. Cracks us up! These pictures are very appropriate for our pumpkin:)

We have noticed more and more lately how sensitive Jack is to touches and clothing. The other day he got very frustrated with the feel of overalls and the feel of new slippers. He often takes off his shoes and socks. And of course, he never liked the feel of grass on his body! But he loves massages and back scratches. Sometimes he will lay on my lap and i will scratch his back for 10-15 minutes straight!
Jack seems to be quite the people person. His first (and only word) for months has been "HI" in a very loud and enthusiastic voice. He says it to complete strangers, animals, posters of people, etc. In the morning he will wake up and start yelling "Hi". He says mama and dada and the other day he started doing "doggy" as "oggy". To say that Jack likes animals would be a great understatement!! He goes crazy when he sees any pictures or real life animals. I wish we could get a pet but we know right now is not the time!
