a few words from mom:)

Well, i thought i would write while i have a few minutes, before i crash tomorrow from the high of today!! What a day it has been:)) We are still trying to make calls but there are so many of you we want to chat with! So i thought i would write a bit about our day. I woke up this morning at 5 a.m. with a strong contraction. After just a few of these Stephen was up packing up and by 5:20 we were calling the babysitter and doctor! We made it to the hospital by 6 (a little speeding by Stephen helped:)) and got right in. I was already 7-8cm and in quite a bit of pain. Once in the room i took to the jacuzzi tub - amazing!! I experienced so much pain relief and the contractions were less intense than with Andrew. By 7 a.m. anesthesia was there. I was almost 9cm by then but i really wanted to go ahead with the epidural. It was so good - it only worked on 1 side of my body but the relief it provided was amazing! The nurse broke my water and Stephen and i relaxed together as i finished dilating. She told me it was time to push so i pushed once and the baby came right down. Um... time to call in the doctor she said! So we hung out another 5 minutes till the doctor came in. Then, 5 pushes later (about 5 minutes total) Jack was out!!! Time of birth was 7:51a.m. I have to say it was about the best experience i could have asked for! We are so thankful. Our time here at the hospital has been great. The food is top notch:)) And Jack has been resting the whole day and eaten well. Stephen and Andrew are on their way - we are looking forward to Andrew meeting his brother!! Thanks for all the calls and e-mails! We look forward to introducing you to Jack soon:)

Yay Rachel!! Way to go!!! Was it woods or horlacher who delivered? Also, who was your L&D nurse? Remember her name? (you were there such a short time!). He's really super cute and you have some amazing pictures of him already! I think he's really cute! I love the black and white pics below from the profile view...you can see his long eyelashes! Great job! I didn't know "Jack" was a "Jackson"... I really like that name and has always been on my list of names :) Again, great job and congratulations on a healthy 9 lb boy!

Congrats Rachel and Stephen!!! We're so excited to meet Jack soon and hope that all is going well. You look great Rachel and I think Jack looks just like Andrew's newborn pictures (although maybe not quite as much hair). Thanks for posting pictures so quickly! Keep them coming!
