Christmas of 2012!! Some memorable parts of the trip:
-Andrew lost his other front tooth in the drive there and Stephen sang him " all I want for Christmas is my 2 front teeth:("
-the ride to the farm was very smooth until the last 2 hours when both Andrew and jack threw up. We were saved by a plastic construction hat that I shoved in front of jack right before it came up! Thank you Hampton inn dining room lady for the hat.
-celebrated Andrews birthday with all 22 in my family. Andrew had to "wave" out he candle so he didn't spread germs:)
-had our annual carol sing and pizza Christmas Eve. Elsie continues to love going to any and all females in the family but still isn't crazy about the guys:)
-jack took a special interest in the piano and figured out how to play several Christmas songs. He did have a hard adjustment when he couldn't play for the actual carol sing though.
-Andrew loves being with his boy cousins and esp loved tackle sledding next to the house. One morning the sledding trail became faster and he slid nose first into a log. Thankful it doesn't appear broken and it seemed to heal well.
-Josie was teething her first 2 teeth but took to all the activity very well.
-Christmas day opening of presents went very smoothly with so many! We went one family at a time passing out their gifts and opened them one at a time.
-Geneva bought some fun Christmas crafts and nativity masks for the kids to put on a skit.
-the rest of the family went home and we got a foot of snow. It was beautiful. We got snowed in by another storm and got some extra time to do a big sledding trip down the road to the big hill behind the farm. The boys loved it and we got
To do it with aunt Julia and mr
Eddie:)
-the trip home went well. Thankful
For Nonna's stockings as I gave out one present per hour. The first 10 hours of the trip were perfect then we hit a wAll. We decided to stop at a pizza place at a small town. Jack decided at that moment he wanted to teach himself how to tie his shoes which began a 20 minute negotiation and tears. We finally got
To the restraurant and we were the only ones there. We noticed 2 cameras right above our table and later in the meal (after I had been nursing several times) out waitress mentioned everyone in the back room was watching us and thought we were sweet. A funny place! The rest of the trip went well and as always it was good to be home!!
