Julia's departure...

Clue night with Julia. During our time with Julia we started playing clue together. Stephen wrote up some "tracking" sheets which made the games highly competitive! Fun times.

Aunt Julia had to leave us at the end of March. Of course we knew the day would come but it just seemed to sneak up on us so quickly! It was amazing how God worked out all the details of our time together. Julia left her job to help me in October without any jobs lined up for the future. Through an amazing sequence of timings and interviews she got a counceling position just 30 minutes from home in Vermont. She only had to send her resume out one time! And her start date was in April which meant she was able to help me through the rest of the pregnancy and for the first 8 weeks of Elsie's life. I don't know what i would have done without her help! The boys miss her and often reference her in random ways. But the boys don't really understand her absence - life keeps going for them and they talk about her like she still lives with us. The day when she left i was fighting back the tears as she packed up her car. The boys kept laughing and saying "bye-bye" everytime she walked out the door with an arm full of stuff! We couldn't help but laugh - to them she was just going away for an afternoon or weekend. And Elsie's room will probably forever be "Julia's room". I sure miss having her here through the day to day stuff with the kids and our evenings all together.
